Errors

Every error code the API gives, with what to do about it.

• arithmeticExact arithmetic overflowed or was undefined.
• backup-failedThe backup could not be made, so nothing was written.
• book-already-openA book is already open in this server.
• book-changedAnother program changed the SQLite book since red-ale read it.
• book-lockedAnother program holds the book's lock.
• cannot-lockThe lock could not be taken because the location is not writable.
• conflictThe entity exists but may not be changed this way.
• file-existsThe file to create already exists.
• file-formatThe file is not a readable GnuCash XML book or journal.
• formulaA scheduled transaction's formula could not be used.
• import-fileAn import file cannot be read as its format.
• internal-errorA bug in red-ale.
• invalidThe request is not valid for the book as it stands.
• invalid-paramsThe params do not match the method's schema.
• invalid-requestThe request was JSON but not a JSON-RPC 2.0 request.
• io-errorA file operation failed.
• method-not-foundNo method has that name.
• network-disabledThe method needs the network and the Configuration has it off.
• no-bookNo book is open.
• not-foundAn entity named in the request does not exist.
• parse-errorThe request was not valid JSON.
• read-onlyThe book is open read-only, so it cannot be changed.
• report-limitA report script passed one of its limits.
• report-loadA user report script does not load.
• report-optionA report option value is not valid.
• report-resultA report script returned a malformed result.
• report-scriptA report script failed while running.
• save-verificationThe file written did not read back as the same book, so it was removed.
• sql-bookThe book is on a database server, which red-ale does not open.
• unbalancedA transaction would not balance, so nothing was changed.
• unsaved-changesThe book has changes not yet saved.
• unsupported-uriThe path is a URI scheme red-ale does not use.
